[x] Include 1-5 pictures of yourself:
(I tried to use three pictures that all had a very big contrast from eachother.)
[x] Name: Yael
[x] Age: 17
[x] Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada
[x] Name some bands/music you like: Dresden Dolls, Flogging Molly, From Autumn to Ashes, Metallica, OpethAnd the list could go on and on so I'll stop it here. Just know that my tastes are pretty eclectic.
[x] Interests: Music, Love, Poetry, Passion, Helping others, Writing, Drawing, Photography, Reading.. And again, the list could go on..
[x] Put a lyric/line that you adore &why: "Life's like an hourglass glued to the table" - Anna Nalick in her song called Breathe. I love this line because of its truth. You can't turn back time or change the direction of your life in order to change occurences that have taken place. The only direction you can keep moving in is forwards. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
[x] What/who do you respect &why: I respect true emotion and people who understand themselves. It's a long road to get to the point where you somewhat understand yourself and your emotions, thoughts and decisions but you become a stronger person for it. Granted, no one can ever FULLY understand all of that, but it's still something to get even halfway there.
[x] What do you adore: Beth ;) Now that I'm done sucking up, I adore life. Not just my life but life in all forms. Life is beauty. Those two words are interchangeable. Society as a whole generally adores beauty as long as it is aesthetically pleasing but it's the beauty inside that deserves true adoration. We all have that beauty, it's just a matter of recognizing it.
[x] What gets under your skin: People who are ungrateful. People who use you and discard you. People making jokes about things they simply don't understand. Ignorance is something I abhor.
[x] Who do you idolize: One of my teachers. Her name is Terry and she is a social worker, as I aspire to become one day. She's done so many things and fought for so many people and made such a difference in the lives of individuals and groups. I only wish to be able to do that one day. I'm studying to get there but if I am eventually able to make a difference in the life of only one person, that would be enough.
[x] Is there anything you can relate to, if so what &why: I relate to music. It's simple and sort of primal. Sounds and movement - put together to form something greater than itself. What could be more universal? We're all part of the music that the world creates.
[x] Why do you want to join this community: Honestly? Because Beth said to in her journal and she's too wonderful to say no to.
[x] Include some of your artwork/writing/pictures etc:
One of my drawings (Click the thumbnail for a full view):
My most recent piece of poetry:
Into Sweet Oblivion
Combatting this symphony of sympathies
I walk alone on this tightrope in-between
And my shadow
And I'm simply dying to fall and crash
Into sweet oblivion sweetheart
But you're oblivious
And I'm obvious
With my play on words
That even you can't hear
Even when nothing is louder than my silence
And nothing quieter than my clichéd desire
And maybe a little dose of reality
To put us back to sleep
Instead of keeping us awake and always dreaming
